I was browsing a secondhand bookstore looking for sensual, perhaps “feminine” but definitely slightly erotic images, as inspiration for Hebe he bebe hebebe, when I came across a series of photographs. I made an intuitive selection of shapes that somehow spoke a guirlandesque language I found fitting.
When back home I dropped a selection of 3 photographs on my table and in un coup de dés of chance they fell right in composition. When gluing them in place, I neglected the material reality of the paper and it resistantly curled up into an elegant guirlandesque scultpure. Since I had no idea how to ever present the unstable piece, I took a photo and color-shifted it into a burlesque punk slash 00’s extravaganza of which I have no idea whether to like it or not.
